Welcome to The Bugshelf
Once upon-a-time I was a Librarian, and whilst you may be able to take the girl out of the library, you can’t take the library out of the girl.
So, here is my ever growing ‘library’ of book recommendations, mostly bug related, sometimes not, for small children and for grown-up children alike.
I would love to hear what you think if you read one of these books, or if you have a book recommendation for me :)

Silk & Venom: The Incredible Lives of Spiders
In 'Silk & Venom: The Incredible Lives of Spiders', James O'Hanlon takes us into the weird, wonderful, fascinating world of the 50,000 or so species of spiders we share our planet with.
Funny, engaging and very much a book that might change your mind if you are not a fan.

An Insect a Day
Bite-sized profiles of insects from around the world from the tiny to the giant. A quick read for each day, guaranteed to highlight the always interesting world of the small things around us, and why they are important.

Up Close: Spiders
Providing a broad coverage of all things Australian spider related, this is a great read for kids large and small.
